Katori Jingu






The Katori Shrine is a Shinto shrine in the city of Katori in Chiba Prefecture , Japan.  
And is the head shrine of the approximately 400 Katori shrines around the country.

Katori Shrine was established in 643 BC, 
the 18th year of the reign of Emperor Jimmu,
it is ranked alongside Ise Jingū and Kashima Jingū 
as one of three shrines with the Jingū designation.

Katori Shrine is located about 20 kilometers northeast of Narita Airport, 
it's not far from Sawara station.  
It can be reached there about  15 minute by bus  
or 10 minute by taxi  from Sawara Station,
 and by car it's about 25 minutes from Narita Airport if using the expressway 
or about 45 minutes by toll free roads.
