Angel Food Cake



Angel Food Cake



This cake has very delicate texture 
and is very light. soft and fluffy.

Using very simple ingredients 
and easy to make,
only using egg white and without any fat.

And serving with your favorite fruit sauce, 
whipped cream, lemon curd.

 

    Ingredients     
For 6-inch tube cake pan 

Cake flour  1 cup (120g)
Egg white  8 (about 250g)
Lemon juice 2 teaspoons
Salt  1/4 teaspoon
Vanilla extract 1 teaspoon
Sugar  1 cup (180g)
 


** You can use cream of tartar to instead lemon juice
 I can not find cream of tartar here, so I used lemon juice
But lemon juice is  work well


* Do not grease cake pan *


Preheat oven to 180°C / 350°F.



Sift the cake flour for 2-3 times, and set aside.



In a large bowl,  
beat the egg whites,salt and lemon juice with a hand mixer  


 When egg whites is foamy , 
add sugar little by little at a time 


Add vanilla extract, 
and continue to beat egg white until stiff peaks 


Pour about 1/3 of the flour and fold it into meringue, 
and then repeat with the remaining meringue 
until the cake batter is evenly combined. 



Pour the batter into cake pan  



 Move a knife through batter to remove air bubbles.

Bake at 180°C / 350°F for  30-35minutes
or until top is golden brown
and a skewer  inserted in the center comes out clean







aut cake pan upside down to cool completely,
then remove cake from pan
 












After cool down completely,
 you can add your favorite fruits, fruit sauce, 
whipped cream, lemon curd ...etc.
